| The USA Pans Square Cake Pan is constructed of aluminized steel, the material of choice for commercial bakeries. The size and design of this pan makes it ideal for cakes, brownies and delicate pastries. The metal thickness of this pan has been selected to allow for even heat distribution and maximum service life. An important and unique feature of this pan is its corrugated design. Corrugation maximizes the pans strength and prevents warping, denting and other effects of everyday use. Plus, it also minimizes surface contact which translates into evenly baked products that are easily released. No need for messy and unhealthy oil and grease. This pan is coated with Americoat. Americoat is a proprietary silicone coating. It provides a clear, non-stick, environmentally friendly, non-toxic baking surface, specially formulated for superior baking. It's FDA approved; it does not contain PTFE's or PFOA's. It is not recommended to exceed baking temperature of 400 degrees F. Easy care. To clean, simply wipe clean after use; soap and water are okay to use. It is not recommended that pan be washed in dishwasher because harsh chemicals can cause the non-stick material to breakdown in time. Dry pan completely, after cleaning. USA Pans is the newest line of bakeware developed by American Pan, the world's largest manufacturer of commercial bakeware. Pans are made of 65% recycled steel. Made in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, USA. I bake regularly, and my square pans were quite battered. Also, they weren't very good quality, since they were purchased long ago when our lifestyle was "Early Poverty." (Thank you, Erma Bombeck, for that expression!) I'd read many good things about the USA pans, and decided to try them. I know that quality bakeware is never cheap, so the price didn't faze me.
These pans are amazing! Solid and heavy, they heat evenly without hotspots. Baked goods brown nicely and release well. Clean-up is effortless; the proprietary silicone coating on these pans works beautifully, giving you non-stick benefits without the usual non-stick problems. The rims are rolled around heavy steel wire, so they do NOT bend when filled with very dense batter, nor warp in the oven under normal oven temperatures. (By "normal," I mean, "not under the broiler." I haven't checked to see if that's OK.)
And . . . THEY ARE MADE IN THE U.S.A.!
I'm a complete convert to USA pans, and will be replacing all my bakeware with these items as the old ones reach retirement. |
