Product Description |
| Many excellent bakers prefer a cake pan without a fancy nonstick liner, knowing that traditional greasing and flouring provide enough coating for most recipes. This pan from Chicago Metallic provides everything you could want in such a pan: deep, perfectly straight sides, a thick rolled edge, and heavy-duty construction. With long-term use, the pan will darken, creating a need for slightly shorter baking times but enhancing the delicate crust of tender cakes. Both chocolate and white cakes bake up beautifully in this pan, rising evenly, developing a thin crust and good color, and releasing without breakage. The pan is dishwasher-safe, but hand washing is a breeze--when used with proper lining techniques, not much sticks to this pan. --Jill Lightner |

Best of the best

| I have been using this pan for years, and they (I have three of them) still look like newly bought. Cakes bake in a breeze, without burning, or not browning enough. This is the best pan for cake baking I have found, and do not doubt to compare it favorably with any other much more expensive cake pan. |

| The weight of these pans are wonderful - I own three of the 9" rounds and have never had a problem with sticking or burning. You can't go wrong with this product. |

This product is so simple, it is hard to get too excited about it, but here goes...
Our previous cake pans were purchased in the department stores. They main selling point was their "no-stick" coating. These worked fine - at first but the no stick quickly wears off and the pans are thin & dark and the next thing you know is that all you are worried about is avoiding burns.
We chucked those and got these. OK "no-stick", forget about that. Use PAM (for baking) instead. These pans are heavy gauge aluminum - HEAVY. They retain their shape and they spread the heat evenly. NO hot spots! They are heavy gauge aluminum - HEAVY. They don't burn which means they clean up easily (remember the PAM thing). They are heavy gauge aluminum - HEAVY... period. There is no funky coating to flake off down the road. Take care of these and you will have them for a long, long time.
Bottom line - we like them and we'll be buying more (in different sizes) soon. |
so high ....

| Other than being heavy and solid feeling, these pans are unusually "tall" ... taller than any I've ever owned or used. The heavy metal produces a fine cake layer. So far, Chicago Metallic has had the highest quality baking pans I've ever used. |
Throw away the cheapie amateurs!

| Perfect depth, excellent cake surface, and wonderful heat distribution. This is the reward for from-scratch bakers. |
