1st birthday cupcake holder

Review Date: August 17, 2009
Reviewer: Mark Mccaffery,
I think that this served the purpose of "being a cupcake holder". It was cute and easy to put together. However, the cupcakes were not supported that well in the holes that you placed them in. While carrying the cupcakes out at my son's first birthday to sing happy birthday 6 of the 19 cupcakes went crashing down on the patio. It made a funny video for YouTube! So my advise is to leave it stable on a table....DO NOT MOVE!
Arrived not usable, will have to return, hope the next one is better . . .

I read the first review before purchasing and decided to buy anyway since I planned to arrange the cupcakes on the buffet table and would not need to move it. I love the look and getting the cupcakes up off the table would leave more room for other items.

It just arrived and I am so disappointed. The top holder will not screw into place because bottom is curved a bit and the threads will not engage.

Also, in the 3rd layer down (which comes in 2 segments) one of the segments sits so that it touches the layer above it, making it impossible to put a cupcake in those 3 holders.

I am so disappointed; I love the look of this holder. I guess I will return it and hope the next one is made properly, but I just checked and found some other reviews that show flaws as well so I am skeptical that my second attempt will work out any better.

I hate returning or exchanging defective merchandise, so am very disappointed right now.

I promise to report back when I get my exchange to let you know how it all works out.
Disaster

While the idea is great, the implementation was a disaster. We stacked up cupcakes, lit all the birthday candles (quite a race), and then tried to bring the stand into the living room to the birthday person for a spectacular presentation. The holders are not stable, so most of the candles crashed to the floor.

Advice: stretch the curly cupcake holders so the cupcakes are held more firmly. Then do NOT try to move the cupcake tree. Knowing this, the second time around was fine.
